Today marks the first radio show I did for community radio station Voice FM, in Southampton. I host a weekly lunchtime radio show, where I am volunteering as a radio presenter.

I joined Voice FM, volunteering as a radio presenter this time last year when I was in my third year of University. Now a year on I have graduated from University and am hoping to work in the media industry.

Being part of the Voice FM team has provided me with a lot of opportunities over the past year including:

• Supporting Voice FM in the Voice FM awards
• Supporting Voice FM in Southampton’s bid for city of culture
• Featuring on my local radio station BBC Radio Solent
• Attending a theatre press event

In March 2021, the Voice FM social media team was looking for some more support. I decided to help out as I volunteered with Winchester Hub throughout my third year of University. This helped me gain social media skills. I am now one of the main content creators for the Voice FM social media accounts.
