Dissertation – Uncovering Artists
For my Media and Communication degree in my third year, I chose to do a practical dissertation. Consisting of a practical piece of work and at least 5,000 written words describing the production of your project.
For my dissertation, I decided to create a podcast. This idea stems from my own podcast ‘Student Radio Stories‘ that I started in early 2020. I also thought choosing a podcast may be beneficial to me as I want to work in the audio industry.
In my podcast series, each episode focuses on me and my podcast guest talking about a music artist or band’s career. I chose music artists who I personally enjoyed and artists who have had an interesting musical journey to discuss. My podcast guests included Lee Hawthorn, who works for BBC Newcastle, and Joshua Dodd and Eloise Phillips who were part of my student radio station Sound Radio.
In my dissertation module, I received a first!
